Insource Performance Solutions Engineering Manager Receives Six Sigma Black Belt Certification
Charlotte, NC, May 5 2010– Amadeo Ferreira of Insource Performance Solutions (http://www.insourceperforms.com), a proven leader in performance based workforce solutions, has received his Six Sigma Black Belt certification. This designation signifies a thorough understanding of Six Sigma philosophies and principles, including supporting systems and tools. The certification is given to those who complete rigorous testing and demonstration of the practical application of established Six Sigma methodologies.
Six Sigma is a business management strategy that seeks to improve quality by identifying and removing the causes of defects , or errors. In addition, it focuses on minimizing variability in manufacturing and business processes. It uses a set of quality management methods, including statistical methods, and creates a special infrastructure of people within the organization (“Black Belts”, “Green Belts”, etc.) who are experts in these methods. Each Six Sigma project carried out within an organization follows a defined sequence of steps and has quantified targets. These targets can be financial (cost reduction or profit increase) or whatever is critical to the customer of that process (cycle time, safety, delivery, etc.).
Mr. Ferreira received his undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering from UCAB in Caracas, Venezuela. From there he went on to receive a Master of Engineering in Engineering Management from the University of Florida, a program that combines an MBA with an Industrial Engineering degree. He has been with Insource in various roles since 2000 and currently serves as Engineering Manager. He joins a number of Insource Engineers, Managers and supervisors who have earned Six Sigma certifications.
